Publishing

I'm going to try my hand at self-publishing just to see what it's like. I've decided that my tester piece is going to be The Bus Ride in via PubIt! I know, I know, some of you authors out there are probably thinking that is not the way to go. Like I said, this is a test.  I really want to publish via Excessica publishing, but have to wait until they are accepting more submissions.

PubIt! says that it will take a couple of days before I will see my book for sale. When it happens I will post it here. Can't wait!!

Excited!! My first Lush Story has been published. This story is part of my Office Quickies series called The Ride In. Why am I more exited about this posting then the ones that I have over at Booksie? I guess it's because the readership at Lush are all about sex. All they care about is the good story and they know what turns them on.

I am definitely encouraged to write more. But, right now I have to go for a run because I'm getting ready for the Hollywood 5k next week and the dog is screaming for a walk. Stinking duties get in the way of writing LOL

Lush

I discovered Lush Stories! While Booksie is good, Lush Stories takes erotica and sex porn to another level. The moderators expect a certain caliber of writer to post their stories on the site. Grammatical errors are not allowed, so you really have to read over your story carefully before posting.

I just submitted my first story for posting and am excited to see it when it's finally approved. If you get the chance, come and visit me. I bet you'll find that you like the place and soon won't be able to get enough.

MercyB @ Lush Stories

I'm amazed at my thought process over the last week and a half since I've decided to seriously tackle writing erotica. My research has been to read as many erotica stories that I can get my hands on. I've been focusing on indie writers. Things that have piqued my interest is technique and style. How to Write Hot Sex by Shoshanna Evers has been extremely helpful. Especially the tip about being sure to use all 5 senses when describing a scene.

Even while I'm at work I get distracted thinking about how I can artfully describe an experience, a mood, a feeling. I want my readers to feel as if they are right there, in the scene with my characters, and that they can't help but get themselves off after (or while) reading the story.

I will be looking for artful and constructive criticism, so if you read a story be sure to comment. I really want to know what you think.
